Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy

An Effective New Treatment To Decrease Reliance On Medications

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy is a new breakthrough in mental health treatment. It provides a safe, non-invasive, non-pharmacological treatment option provided in the outpatient environment. Within a brief few years, the paradigm of mental health treatment has significantly revolutionized beyond just medication-based and cognitive therapy-based options. TMS therapy uniquely delivers a focused stimulation to a specific region of the brain associated with depression and other mental illnesses. By treating the brain cortex directly with a MRI-like technology packaged into a small, compact and safe module, TMS has been shown to be an effective approach to improve brain function in a gentle manner. Using a powerful magnetic field to induce electrochemical changes in the brain cortex, TMS is able to produce neuroplastic effects leading to lasting improvements to brain function and activity. TMS is gentle on the brain because only a very specific region of the brain is stimulated and through the brain intrinsic network the brain gradually heals. TMS therapy is an FDA-cleared treatment option for managing medication-resistant depression. In addition to depression, TMS has been shown to be effective for other conditions, such as anxiety, PTSD, postpartum depression, chronic pain, ADHD, and autism.  For additional information,  please call us at (480)565-6440
