Chung co-founded Lighthouse with Yukari Kawamoto, MD with the vision to create a facility focused solely on delivering quality mental health care to our local community. He is tasked with bringing this vision to reality, implementing appropriate logistics and strategic planning. His goal is to develop a constructive and long-term business strategy to provide quality mental health care that is fundamentally patient-centric rather than symptom-driven. He has assembled a great group of licensed professionals and supportive staff who are passionate and dedicated to Lighthouse's "vision" of quality care and compassionate service.
MELISSA RAMIREZ, MD
Medical Director (Arizona)
Dr. Ramirez is board-certified in both General Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She obtained her medical degree (M.D.) at The University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. After completing an internship at Makati Medical Center in Manila, she completed a residency in General Psychiatry and fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) in Phoenix, Arizona. She has extensive experience in inpatient and outpatient care for children and adults. She is committed to providing the best care possible to her patients centered on a holistic and wellness philosophy. She is passionate about different population improve their quality of life through better mental health care.
KENDRA LINCK, LPC
Associate Clinical Director (Arizona)
Kendra received a BA from University of Oregon and a Masters Degree in Counseling from University of Phoenix. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is EMDR trained to help clients work through past trauma experiences. She is committed to providing her clients with a supportive and compassionate therapeutic relationship to facilitate healing and growth. She empowers clients to develop insight, confidence, and trust in themselves, moving forward with solutions for positive change. She specializes in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns & divorce, codependency, substance abuse/addiction, life transitions, and women’s issues. Kendra works with individuals to process traumas, lessen anxiety, and overcome limiting beliefs and behaviors. She has a special passion working with older adolescents and young adults who are experiencing difficulty with the transition into adult levels of independence and responsibility.
CAROL MELIM, LCSW
Co-Clinical Director (Arizona)
Carol graduated from ASU in May 2008 with her Masters in Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through Arizona Board of Behavioral Health. She specializes in working with children, teens, adults, and families who have challenges with ADHD, adoption, anxiety, depression, loss and grief, mood disorder, oppositional defiance, trauma, and victims of abuse and neglect. She is EMDR Certified with EMDRIA to help children, teens, and adults process trauma. She has completed additional EMDR training to work with reprocessing early trauma and neglect in implicit memory and Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) and Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP).
JESSICA SHOFF, LCSW
Associate Clinical Director (Arizona)
Jessica specialties in individual, group, and family therapy with clients ages 12 and up. As a therapist, Jessica emphasizes belief in family systems and treating the whole person while fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship to help aid client's exploration of their own inner potential, drive, and abilities to overcome and adapt to life's challenges. Jessica received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. She is currently accredited with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health and is a member of the National Association of Social Work. With diverse experience working with adolescents and adults from wilderness, intensive outpatient, acute, and residential settings, Jessica utilizes multi-modal techniques to target maladaptive behaviors and thought processes to address depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, trauma, substance abuse and improving family relationships to reduce conflict and overcome communication barriers including Dialectic Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
ROCHELLE AGUILA, LMFT
Co-Clinical Director (Arizona)
Rochelle is our Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. She received her Master of Science in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University. Rochelle believes in using a holistic approach in therapy and utilizes strength based approaches and modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems theory, solution-focused brief therapy, and brief strategic therapy. She is dedicated to helping individuals cope and heal from traumatic experiences, establish healthy relationships, and develop effective coping skills. She also specializes in assisting couples and families in improving the quality and satisfaction of their relationships. What makes Rochelle special is her passion and dedication towards helping others learn the importance of self care and belief in oneself.
